A "garden flag" is usually 12 by 18 inches (our awareness ribbon ones are a bit longer) and hangs vertically from a crossbar stand in a flower bed or a lawn. They are somehow both the most-bought flag format in the country and the most swappable.
Three things separate our garden flags from most others:
- being printed on both sides so it reads correctly either way,
- a pole pocket that is sewn instead of heat-fused
- and print that is dyed into the fabric instead of sitting on top of it.

What is the difference between a garden flag and a house flag?
Size and how it hangs. Garden flags are 12 by 18 inches on a ground stand. House flags are usually 28 by 40 and hang from a bracket on a wall or a post (so yes, that one involves drilling).
Do I need a stand?
Yes, unless you already have one. There's a sewn pole pocket at the top that slides onto a horizontal crossbar, and any standard stand fits but we recommend ours to be sure!
Are these double sided?
Yes! They're printed so the design reads correctly from both directions with a blackout fabric in between.
Can I wash a garden flag?
Cold water, mild soap, hang to dry. No dryer, no bleach. Most of the fading people blame on the sun is actually detergent. More at our Flag Care page.
