The garden flag is a relatively new idea in a very old craft. With a standard size of 12 by 18 inches, it hangs from a crossbar in a flower bed, planter pot, or even in a window. They exist because most people want to decorate a house...but not drill into it. (also, garden flags get around HOA rules a bit easier)
They are also much easier to switch out seasonally which makes them perfect for holiday decor!
Flags For Good garden flags are printed on both sides so the design reads correctly from either direction (a surprising number of garden flags are mirrored on the back...NOT US!). Will a Halloween garden flag survive a month outside?
Ours are made to. The polyester is the same weight we use on full-size outdoor flags, and the print is dyed through rather than screened on top, so October rain and low sun do not wash it out. Bring it in for genuinely severe wind and it will last years. More at our Flag Care page.
When should I put Halloween decorations out?
Most people go up in the first week of October. BUUUUUT if you want the longest run, a general fall or harvest flag in September rolling into a Halloween flag on October 1 covers the whole season without looking early.
