✍️ The Design: The national flag of Tunisia is one of the most historic and recognizable banners in the Arab world. Adopted in its basic form around 1831 by the Bey of Tunis, it is a striking example of North African identity that predates many modern national flags. The design features a bold red field with a white circle at its center, containing a red crescent and a five-pointed star.
The red color is a traditional symbol of the Ottoman Empire, reflecting Tunisia's historical ties while maintaining its own distinct sovereignty. The white circle represents the sun, acting as a backdrop for the crescent and star which are ancient symbols of Islam and icons of good luck. Because of this shared heritage, the Tunisian flag bears a strong resemblance to the Turkey flag, though Tunisia's version centers the symbols within a white disc to create a unique and balanced aesthetic.
National Days of Celebration: The flag takes center stage during Independence Day on March 20, marking the end of the French protectorate in 1956. It is also prominently displayed on Republic Day, celebrated every July 25 to commemorate the abolition of the monarchy and the birth of the modern republic. On these days, the "Red and White" can be seen draped across balconies and lining the streets of Tunis, serving as a powerful reminder of the nation’s long journey toward self-determination and democracy.
The Tunisian flag is a proud tribute to a nation that has often led the way in regional political and social progress. It stands as a historic symbol of Mediterranean heritage and Arab-Berber pride.

Yes! Our single-layer flags have full rich color on both sides of the fabric.

This flag is single-layer, meaning it is printed on the front. On the reverse side, the text will appear mirrored. If you want it oriented correctly on both sides, look for our flags that have a "double-layer" option.

It really depends on the environment it is flying in. Direct UV exposure, wind, rain, latitude, and especially hitting things like the brick on a house will shorten your flag's life. Also, dark colors fade first and the fastest. See our care page to make your flag last the longest!

We ship most things that don't include poles in discreet black eco-mailers. They're made from recovered ocean-bound plastic, so even our packaging does good!
Anything shipped with a flag pole, garden pole, or large numbers of flags comes in a standard cardboard box.

Standard shipping typically takes 3-5 business days within the continental US, while expedited options are available for faster delivery if you choose to upgrade. We try to get orders in the mail as soon as we can. This could be as fast as the next day or take us a few days during busy times.
