Dayton, Ohio Flag
🏴 3' x 5' Dayton, OH flag with grommets and double-stitched edges to reduce fraying.
✍️ The Design: Inspired by the abstract shape of the Wright Flyer's wings (they were from Dayton even though the famous flight was in Kitty Hawk North Carolina), the flag uses dynamic angles to create a sense of motion and progress.
The green band at the bottom represents Dayton's "Gem City" nickname and, more importantly, the community's well-known grit and tenacity. A dark blue band sweeps across the flag, symbolizing the area's vital waterways. The five distinct white stripes are a clever nod to the five rivers that flow through the Dayton region.
It’s a thoughtful banner that honors Dayton’s legacy of flight while celebrating the land and people who make the city what it is.
