Gulfport, MS Flag
3' x 5' polyester Gulfport, Mississippi Flag with two grommets, double-stitched top and bottom edges, and a triple-stitched fly edge to reduce fraying.
✍️ The Design: The city flag of Gulfport, Mississippi is a modern civic banner adopted unanimously by the City Council on December 17, 2024. Created during Gulfport's milestone 125th anniversary, this design gave the city its first official flag to replace old, unofficial branding layouts.
The symbols directly reflect the geography and heritage of the Mississippi sound. The blue field honors the coastal waters and skies, representing vigilance, perseverance, and harmony. A central gold circle represents the sun, signifying hope, optimism, prosperity, continuity, and unity. This circle encloses seven white stars that act as navigating beacons for the city's seven municipal wards and sand beaches, while a central anchor stands as an emblem of strength, stability, and a long maritime history.
