3' x 5' polyester Algeria Flag with grommets and double-stitched edges to reduce fraying.
✍️ The Design: The national flag of Algeria is a striking vertical bicolor that serves as a profound symbol of the Islamic faith and the hard-won struggle for sovereignty. Adopted officially in 1962 upon independence, its design is deeply rooted in the banners used by the National Liberation Front (FLN) during the resistance against colonial rule.
The flag is split perfectly down the middle. The hoist side is a deep green, representing the traditional color of Islam as well as the lush, fertile landscapes of the north. The fly side is a pure white, symbolizing peace and the purity of the revolution. Centered on the divide is a red star and crescent, iconic symbols of the Muslim world that align Algeria with the wider heritage of the Maghreb, much like the nearby Tunisia flag or the Turkey flag. The red of the emblem is a solemn tribute to the blood of the millions of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation's freedom.
National Days of Celebration: The flag is the defining image of Independence Day on July 5, which marks the momentous end of 132 years of French colonial rule in 1962. It is also the focal point of Revolution Day on November 1, commemorating the start of the war of liberation in 1954. During these holidays, the "Green and White" is draped from every balcony in Algiers and waved in massive parades across the country, serving as a powerful reminder of the nation’s resilience and its historic role as a leader in the decolonization movement.

Yes! Our single-layer flags have full rich color on both sides of the fabric.

This flag is single-layer, meaning it is printed on the front. On the reverse side, the text will appear mirrored. If you want it oriented correctly on both sides, look for our flags that have a "double-layer" option.

It really depends on the environment it is flying in. Direct UV exposure, wind, rain, latitude, and especially hitting things like the brick on a house will shorten your flag's life. Also, dark colors fade first and the fastest. See our care page to make your flag last the longest!

We ship most things that don't include poles in discreet black eco-mailers. They're made from recovered ocean-bound plastic, so even our packaging does good!
Anything shipped with a flag pole, garden pole, or large numbers of flags comes in a standard cardboard box.

Standard shipping typically takes 3-5 business days within the continental US, while expedited options are available for faster delivery if you choose to upgrade. We try to get orders in the mail as soon as we can. This could be as fast as the next day or take us a few days during busy times.
