Virginia Flag Redesign

🏴  3' x 4.5' Virginia Flag redesign. Durable polyester Virginia flag with grommets and double stitched edges to reduce fraying.

✍️  The Design: Designed by Virginia native Alex Avendaño in 2022, this redesign caught my eye on Reddit and I thought, "Wow, I couldn't have redesigned it better myself!" So I reached out and he agreed to let it be part of our Better State Flag series. His design notes state:

Blue - Represents the Virginia skies, as well as the many rivers that are found throughout the state.

Sword & Crown - the sword going through the crown is an element already seen on the current Virginia flag and it reflects its motto “sic semper tyrannis” (thus always to tyrant).

White Chevron - represents purity and it forms a “V” which stands for Virginia.

Red - represents England the states colonizer and it also represents the immense influence the English once had, it also represents blood and sacrifice.
