What We Do

Flags For Good supplies custom event flags for venues, stadiums, racetracks, festivals, and large-scale events. We are the only flag company in the United States founded by a credentialed vexillologist (someone who studies and designs flags professionally) and the only supplier deploying CiCLO® biodegradable polyester flags at major American sporting events.

If you need flags that are durable, visually exceptional, correct (not upside down or outdated) and genuinely earth-friendly, you're in the right place.

The Indy 500: Proof at Scale

Silhouette of the IMS Pagoda race track control tower with flags against a sunset sky.

In 2026, we became the Official Flag Supplier of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis 500; the largest single-day sporting event on earth, with 300,000+ fans in attendance.

We supplied over 1,000 flags made with CiCLO® biodegradable technology throughout the facility: grandstand perimeters, facility borders, and on top of the iconic Pagoda. Every flag was third-party certified and accompanied by a CiCLO® Certificate of Authenticity (CCOA).

It marks the first time CiCLO® polyester flags have been deployed at this scale at a major American motorsports venue.

If we can do it at the Indy 500, we can do it at your event.

The Two things that set us apart

1. Flags That Don't Last Forever (In a Good Way)

Conventional polyester flags don't decompose. When an event ends and flags are removed, they go to landfill where they slowly fragment into microplastics that enter waterways, soil, and the food chain. There is no retrieval mechanism once that process begins.

We use CiCLO®; a patented biodegradable fiber ingredient permanently embedded in polyester during manufacturing. During use, CiCLO® flags perform identically to conventional polyester flags: same durability, same print quality, same UV and wind resistance. At end of life, naturally occurring microorganisms break the fiber down to biomass. No microplastics remain.

For venues with ESG commitments or sustainability reporting requirements, we can provide a complete documentation package: CCOA per batch, third-party test data, etc.

2. A Flag Expert, Not Just a Flag Printer

Most flag suppliers are just printers & sewers. Flags For Good is led by a published vexillologist, TED Talk speaker, and Technical Editor of The Complete Guide to Flags of the World, 4th Edition, and lifelong flag nerd, Michael Green.

That expertise matters at international events where national flags must be correct in proportion, color, and construction; where protocol determines display order; and where a mistake could become a diplomatic incident.

We've worked with Olympic teams, consulted on flag accuracy, and supplied flags for sporting competitions. When the flags have to be right, we're the call to make.

For instance, are you hanging the Mexican flag correctly?

What Happens to the Flags After?

If you want to add even more to your sustainability story, we partner with our fellow Indy-based friends at People For Urban Progress to upcycle decommissioned event flags into bags, accessories, and products; keeping material out of landfill for decades more. For venues that want a closed-loop sustainability story, this is it: flags go up, event happens, flags come down, flags become something new (corporate gifts, high-value souvenirs, etc.)

FAQ

  • Recycled polyester (rPET) addresses how a flag is made; it uses post-consumer plastic as a raw material. That's valuable, but it doesn't solve what happens at the end of a flag's life. rPET flags still fragment into microplastics in landfill. CiCLO® addresses end-of-life: the fiber biodegrades naturally rather than persisting. The two technologies can be combined; a CiCLO® flag made from recycled polyester addresses both the beginning and the end of the product lifecycle.

  • No. CiCLO® activates only in the presence of moisture and naturally occurring microorganisms (conditions found in landfill, soil, or waterways, not on a flagpole). During use, CiCLO® flags are indistinguishable from conventional polyester: same wind performance, UV resistance, print quality, and color vibrancy.

  • Yes. Our team includes a credentialed vexillologist with experience in international flag protocol, proportion standards, and construction specifications.

  • Minimums vary by flag type and customization but are usually quite small. Contact us for a quote! We are happy to work with events of all sizes, from 50-flag community festivals to 1,000+ flag venue deployments.
