🏴  3' x 5' Acadiana Cajun Flag with grommets and double-stitched edges to reduce fraying.

✍️  The Design: A flag to represent the Acadian/Cajun population which dots the gulf coast of Louisiana and Texas, this flag was designed in 1965 by Dr. Thomas J. Arceneaux, a professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Its design was intended to increase interest in the French-Acadian heritage, language, and culture.

The golden star in a white field represents the Acadian exiles who settled in the region and their Catholic heritage. The three fleur de lis on the blue on the upper fly represent the French heritage of the Acadians. The golden castle on the red represents the Spanish colonial rule that was in effect in the region when the Acadians landed on the shores.
