✍️ The Design: The flag of Czechia, also known as the Czech Republic, is a masterclass in geometric balance and historical continuity. Adopted in 1920 as the banner of Czechoslovakia, it combined the ancient white and red colors of Bohemia with a blue wedge representing the Slovakia flag. When the two nations peacefully separated in 1993, Czechia chose to retain this iconic design as its national symbol.
The colors are deeply rooted in Slavic tradition. The top white stripe represents purity and peace, while the bottom red stripe symbolizes the courage and blood shed by the people for their homeland. The blue isosceles triangle at the hoist serves as a symbol of truth and loyalty, while historically representing the region of Moravia and the nation's former union with Slovakia. Because of this shared history, it is often compared to the Poland flag, which shares the simple white and red bicolor that formed the Czechia flag's original base.
National Days of Celebration: The flag is a powerful presence during Independent Czechoslovak State Day on October 28, which marks the founding of the republic in 1918. It also flies with solemn pride on Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day on November 17, commemorating the 1989 Velvet Revolution that brought an end to communist rule. During these holidays, the blue, white, and red banner is seen draped across the historic Charles Bridge and throughout the streets of Prague, serving as a reminder of the nation’s resilient journey through the 20th century.

Yes! Our single-layer flags have full rich color on both sides of the fabric.

This flag is single-layer, meaning it is printed on the front. On the reverse side, the text will appear mirrored. If you want it oriented correctly on both sides, look for our flags that have a "double-layer" option.

It really depends on the environment it is flying in. Direct UV exposure, wind, rain, latitude, and especially hitting things like the brick on a house will shorten your flag's life. Also, dark colors fade first and the fastest. See our care page to make your flag last the longest!

We ship most things that don't include poles in discreet black eco-mailers. They're made from recovered ocean-bound plastic, so even our packaging does good!
Anything shipped with a flag pole, garden pole, or large numbers of flags comes in a standard cardboard box.

Standard shipping typically takes 3-5 business days within the continental US, while expedited options are available for faster delivery if you choose to upgrade. We try to get orders in the mail as soon as we can. This could be as fast as the next day or take us a few days during busy times.
