🏴 3' x 4.5' redesigned Kansas flag with grommets and double stitched edges to reduce fraying.
✍️ The Design: For our "Better State Flag" series, the Kansas was pretty easy. After some research, we learned that there are eight historic Indigenous tribes as well as eight nations who have ruled over Kansas in its history. So we made a sunflower with 16 petal and a green field.
A few months after starting Flags For Good, I realized I could fulfill my childhood dream of redesigning bad US State flags. So that's what I'm doing!
Single-sided flags are one piece of our durable fabric with full color on both sides. These are great for indoor use AND outdoor poles because they are light-weight and catch a breeze easily. If the design has text, it will be mirrored on the back. If there are no options, this is the default way we make our flags.
Double-sided flags are three layers of fabric that allow zero light through. They are therefore heavier, and work great as indoor display flags. You can definitely use them outside, but it takes more wind to get going and they could damage flagpoles in extreme wind conditions due to their added weight. Any text on the design will read correctly on both sides.
Each flag is folded by hand on our dining room table and ready to be used on a flag pole, boat, hung on a wall, or to proudly march with.
I love the quality and texture so much! I don't have a place to fly the flag outside, but I have a place in my apartment for it. If I find an occasion, I will be flying the flag on my staff. I'm a Kansan who really doesn't like the Kansas flag. This is a phenomenal design!
I really love the Kansas State Flag. It is a beautiful design with great thought put into it. My only complaint is that I wish it was double sided . When it’s in the sunlight is appears thin and almost see through. I am used to our double sided Pride flag which is very thick.
Overall great quality and message.
Loved the fact that the flag came so promptly, with responsible packaging, and caring company follow up.
I dislike the fact the flag is made in China and the less crisp imagery on the backside. I suggest considering a dark blue background to replace the current green. Though not a Kansas native, I have heard from many of them that the other color would be much better! The sunflower and overall redesign simplification is a great improvement overall!
